Why LED Light Bulbs?

|

Upgrade your light fixtures with LED light bulbs.

LED light bulbs – you’ve heard of them. However, most consumers don’t know how they different from the average incandescent light bulb. They don’t typically look the same as incandescent light bulbs. LEDs also cost differently as they are more energy efficient and last longer. Let’s take a closer look at LEDs.

LED light bulbs or light emitting diode bulbs are a great light source. They produce virtually no heat and can last almost 25 times as long, 22-25 years which means you may never have to change a bulb again – well eventually but it will take a long time. LEDs also use 85% less electricity than the average incandescent bulb.

You may think an LED light bulb is white; however, that’s not the case. LED light bulbs come in different colors such as amber, red, blue and green, not white. The light bulb gives the appearance of being white when lite because it is covered with a phosphor material used to convert the light’s color to white. Furthermore, did you know most lights you see daily have LED light bulbs? For example, the light on your computer or that traffic light you ran this morning.

LED light bulbs are considered directional in how they emit light. Light is directed at a specific direction. In the case of LED light fixtures, LEDs are great for recessed lighting (can lighting) because they have awesome design capabilities. You can sue LEDs in can lights for any room in your house. LEDs are great way to save on your electricity bill each month. They are built with thermal management, which allows them to not overheat or burn out. They simply last longer because of the less heat the give off and less electricity they use, plus they can last 3 years without replacement. No more frequent trips to Lowe’s for light bulbs.
